The Memory Project Wows Bladensburg at Its 1812 Event

Our Memory Project had its debut at the bicentenary at the Bladensburg Waterfront last Saturday (August 23).  At a vendor table sandwiched between the Prince George’s Philharmonic and the Maryland National Guard, we introduced our Memory Project to an enthusiastic crowd looking for distractions from the rain.  Even the Mayor of Bladensberg, Walter James, stopped by with his wife Kisha to offer help soliciting home movies and old photographs for the project.   Just about every historical society in the county was represented, all of them offering help to make our event a memorable day in the county.

The rain was challenging, but the spirits ran high at the Bladensburg event.

Remember:  our first drop off for home movies and photographs is at the South Bowie Library on September 13.  Our big event is scheduled for November 8, when County residents and fans will have an opportunity to screen the movies and images of our common legacy.
